RTOS kernels support hard real-time and deadline requirements in the microsecond range or below, providing performance advantages over Linux. But RTOSes usually have only a limited number of add-on software components available. In addition, these add-ons could be more costly and potentially weaker in information-intensive processing support than their Linux counterparts.

Both measurements indicate that they were performed at the recommended 20 dB below reference level. The first one indicates that the response over the 20 Hz to 20 kHz audio band deviates no more than 1.5 dB from the normalized level at 1 kHz. The second expression indicates that the 3 dB down bandwidth” of the device is 18 Hz to 19.5 kHz, meaning that the response relative to a normalized 0 dB level at 1 kHz is within +1 dB and -3 dB within that band.

The use of integrated IIP and embedded memory enables MobilEye to reduce manufacturing costs and deliver higher product reliability. The IIP obviates the need for expensive external testers or laser repair equipment, resulting in drastic reduction in test development time and cost. In addition, whenever the MobilEye camera is powered on, the IIP performs a self-test and repairs the faulty devices, boosting system reliability.
