Taylor Scanlon has been named vice president of worldwide marketing, directing the company's worldwide strategic and tactical marketing and applications engineering organization. With more than 25 years experience in semiconductor and electronic design automation, Scanlon, 49, previously held the vice president, North American Operations position for COMPASS. Scanlon replaces Jeff Lewis who has left the company to pursue personal interests.

Peabody, MA–August 14, 1996–Micrion Corp. reported revenues and income from operations for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 1996. For the three months ended June 30, 1996, total revenues rose 51 percent to $12.4 million from $8.2 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 1995. Net income for the quarter was $491,000, or $0.11 per share, including a one-time charge of $2.7 million, or $0.62 per share, related to the negotiated settlement of litigation with KLA Instruments Corp. as announced in a press release issued by the company on May 7, 1996.
